loving your neighbor

sorry one more article:

"This is the moral of Jesus’ parable: Your worst enemy—the person you hate most, fear most, resent most—is your neighbor. This is the person you are commanded to love as yourself (Luke 10:27). Not “tolerate.” Not “be civil toward.” But love them as you love yourself.

What happens when followers of Jesus start loving—really loving—the gay community? Has our determination to wage political war against the so-called “gay agenda” cost us the opportunity to authentically love the gay community? And if it has, what does that say about our priorities? Is it possible we’ve chosen the pursuit of power over the teachings of Jesus? What does it say about the depth of our faith when we act like an election has more power to change the world than the love of Christ lived out by His followers?"
